The sentiments of the season are on display with a northern cardinal, the Virginia state bird, hand-painted on a wood slice ornament. The brilliant red cardinal is perched among snow covered tree branches and is ready to be added to your Christmas tree decorations! To complete the ornament, I hand-painted a night sky with bird and tree silhouettes on the back of the wood slice. This would be a wonderful addition to your holiday decor or for gifting to a friend or family member.
This handmade ornament is approximately 3 1/4 inches in diameter and is 3/8 inches thick. Each side of the ornament was painted using acrylics, and the ornament has an additional light coat of polycrylic to ensure the integrity of the wood slice and acrylic paint. Jute twine was added to the ornament, so it's ready for hanging!
